This page is as much for me to be able to find links easily as it is to be able to share links for reliable genealogical information for those interested. My primary concentration is on French, French-Canadian/Canada, and French-Canadian/American resources. However, I will also add Acadian/Cajun, New England, and General resources as well. Sites marked by a # require a paid subscription. Sites marked with % have free sections available, usually after you sign up for the site. (Links will open in a new window) (Perpetually under construction)

Censuses - Canada wasn't officially Canada until 1867, so the first true national census is the 1871 census. The 1851 census has many chunks missing regardless of the site you view it on. Many sites get their images from LAC, so the images are the same; transcriptions may differ. These same censuses are available on Ancestry with paid subscription, but the below are all free:
Automated Genealogy - 1851, 1901, 1906, 1911 censuses
FamilySearch - some have images, some do not; some have name indices, some do not.
Canada Censuses: 1851, 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901, 1906 (NW provs, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Albert), 1911, 1916 (MT, SK, AB)
Ontario (Upper Canada/Canada West): 1842, 1861
Québec (Lower Canada/Canada East): 1825, 1831, 1842, 1861
Nova Scotia: 1861
PEI: 1861
Manitoba Census Indexes (1831-1870): images only, not indexed
